Help! I found this site while googling for Music In Shenyang. I hope you can help me out.

I am in Shenyang for another 9 days, and I have not been able to find my way to any live music. Any suggestions for some local rock, blues, jazz... anything that is live and not Kareoke!

I'd love to hear some local bands. The folks I am staying with have no ideas for me, I am hoping this forum can point me the way.

Beijing Experimental Folk?

Hi,
My name is Dominik and I present a weekly show on the London radio station 'Resonance FM' (www.resonancefm.com) called 'Shanghai Underground', we play all types of Chinese underground music - from electronica to post rock, noise to folk etc/
So this week we are doing a show about Chinese folk. I don't know a huge amount about the Beijing music scene (I lived in Shanghai), but I have been told that there is a great scene for experimental folk music. Could anyone possibly tell me a bit about prominent bands/artists, and/or provide me with some weblinks? Your help would be very much appreciated!

Scream Club Bands

Hi I was an English teacher in Beijing in 1998-2000. and use to go to The Scream Club. I was wondering what ever happened to bands like 69, Anarchy Boys and Brain Failure? Also there was one band with a Russian girl singing and another terrible band with a bald white guy singing,The Yanjing Beer Band or something. Are any of these bands still around?
