This week in Beijing music

The Sonic Bastards arrive in Beijing. These Austrian punks ('old-school,' they say) are playing two shows. Tonight they're at Yugong Yishan, and tomorrow they're at Nameless Highlands. No Need 70's will open at tomorrow's show. (Yugong Yishan show via That's Beijing)

Wondering whether to go? I can't reach their website just now, but they have three mp3s available at http://sonicbastards.dmusic.com/. I recommend "C.B.G.B.'s," their ode to the famous punk club. I hope they make it there before it's gentrified out of existence.

Also tomorrow is a celebration for International Women's Day, also at Yugong Yishan. SUBS and Ziyo are lined up, along with visual artists, authors, and other assorted wonderful females. It starts early, about 5pm—no word on when the music will start. (also via That's BJ)

Friday night will be a treat. Yan Jun, owner of the Sub Jam label, is playing at Nameless Highlands, along with FM3. Headlining is CDRK. I'm having trouble locating an English source on who this is. Let me know if you have any ideas.

I don't plan on missing this one, as I didn't make it to the second night of the MUTEK festival.
