I'm writing this from a smelly wangba in Yinchuan (aren't they all smelly?). The Gegentala Festival was amazing and disappointing and fun and troublesome, all wrapped in to one. Pretty much like I expected. I'll write up some more detailed descriptions when I have some more time, but here are a few quick observations:

• Inner Mongolians love nu-metal.
• Mongolians love hair metal.
• 瘦人 (Thin Man) - cock rock is cock rock in any language.
• Give SUBS a challenge - 5? songs in 15 minutes - and they deliver.
• Build it and they will come. Hold it in the middle of nowhere Inner Mongolia and very few of them will come.
• The Gegentala Grasslands doesn't really have that much grass.
