It begins on the 24th March. microfabrique is going weekly!
Since the last microfabrique party on the 11th February, the plans for micro have changed. That party kept Fabrique open later than ever before, and as everyone enjoyed it so much, and as the club was so packed, we are now rolling out weekly audio bliss. For us at micro, we are using one of the best clubs and sound systems in town to bring you sensual sound satisfaction, something music lovers have been thirsty for in Shanghai. We’ll play the music we love, that you danced and partied to all night.
Here are the details for Friday the 24th March. The line up is jacksonblack (Osaka), B6 (live act/Shanghai), Ben Huang (Shanghai), tootekool (Frankfurt/Shanghai) and for the first time a live painting performance show from kentin (France).
Jacksonblack started mixing in 90s America, until later moving to and spinning in Japan where he discovered micro house. To describe his music, it’s hard to beat the simply crafted words already written in his bio that say: he combines cerebral clicks and cuts with rhythms that make you want to stomp your feet and bob your head! Now in Shanghai, jacksonlack is going to launch the weekly parties. B6 follows. His live set at the last party was stunningly wild. His style highly developed. We know you already want more of his musical wizardry. Next up DJ Ben Huang, one of the best Chinese minimal DJs at the moment, who has a reputation for burning the dance floor with his excellent turntable skills. Like the last time, DJ tootekool will finish the night. He will keep the dance floor vibe alive with minimal techno, blissfully winding up the night. The visual aspect will be fulfilled by VJ tootekool, her big micro flash visuals behind the artists will subtly influence the room’s texture and warmth. She will get support this time from live painter kentin. A French live performer, who arrived only a few months ago in Shanghai and who played at the surnatural event in JZ a couple of weeks ago. micro dancers will adorn the occasion, forming sexy silhouettes within the lycra tubes.
micro’s ultimate aim to build a base for world/China wide performers to play along side DJs producing some of the coolest micro/minimal sounds is coming closer to reality with every event we have.
Not only will we continue bringing international DJs from within the micro/minimal scene, but also we will bring more local DJs alongside guest performers, adding in different forms of expression from live painters to percussionists. Every Friday will be a new combination of micro’s imagination.
